It's not boasting, more like a subtle way to show he has stuff open to trade.
When i saw his first screenshot, I DMed him, and we had a huge Evenink trade.
This is not worst than the people who post 4 picts of a set, showing they have it, but will never post it
Personally, when i see someone has something i like, i DM, doesn't cost anything except 2min.
Sure this place is for sharing, but sometimes you're tired of sharing and not getting anything in return.
I used to share RiCare patreon stuff. But the few sets i miss would never be shared. So i stopped, until at least one of them leak, or someone trades it with me haha.
